1. MYTH: CBD IS ILLEGAL
FACT: CBD is legal as it is extracted from the naturally-occurring non-drug strains of cannabis.
These have high levels of Cannabidiol (which is where CBD gets its name) but only trace amounts of the legally-regulated, psychoactive ingredient known as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is found in medical (and recreational) marijuana, depending on the country in which you reside.
It’s a naturally occurring substance which can be extracted and mixed with what’s known as a carrier oil – often hemp seed or coconut. Therefore, it is legal to buy and consume CBD oil – not cannabis oil – in the UK.
2. MYTH: CBD OIL GETS YOU HIGH
FACT: As mentioned above, the key difference between CBD oil and cannabis is that it doesn’t get you high. It’s important to note that it’s not a recreational replacement and doesn’t work like cannabis does. The reason for this is it does not connect the neutral receptors in your body.
