Top Tips for Selecting the Perfect E-Liquid for Your Vape Device

E-liquid is arguably the most important part of the vaping experience. In fact, you could say that it’s the e-liquid that makes the vaping experience at all!

Why? Because e-liquid is responsible for both the flavour and the strength of the nicotine hit you get from your vaping device. That begs the question: How does a beginner choose the perfect e-liquid when there is such a wide variety available in vape shops in the UK and online?

Don’t despair! CBD VAPE 4 U is here to help with this handy guide.

But first…

What exactly is E-Liquid?

If you’re an ex-smoker, you’ve probably never asked yourself ‘what is tobacco?’. That’s because…well…it’s a plant. And, when smoking a cigarette, that plant is burned to generate the nicotine that is delivered to the smoker.

E-liquid – also known as a vape juice, vape liquid and e-juice – is (essentially) the same.

It’s a fluid typically consisting of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavourings, and nicotine that is heated by the battery in an e-cigarette, vape pen, or vape mod to produce a water-based vapour that’s inhaled and exhaled by vapers.

Simple enough!

What Factors Should You Consider When Buying E-Liquid?

There are three main factors to consider when purchasing an e-liquid: the flavour, the ratio of PG/VG, and the amount of nicotine (or CBD) in the liquid.

There are hundreds of flavours of e-juice, from classic fruity flavours like apple and banana to more niche flavours like cappuccino ice cream and French vanilla custard.

PG/VG Ratio

We mentioned earlier in this article that e-liquid typically consists of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings, and nicotine. You might guess, then, that PG stands for propylene glycol and VG stands for vegetable glycerine. Before the long names scare you off, it’s worth noting that both of these have been used in the food industry for decades which means their safe to consume.

When deciding which ratio is best for you, it’s important to consider why you’re vaping. If you’re vaping to give up smoking, you’re better off choosing an e-liquid that’s higher in PG as they often offer higher levels of nicotine and a more intense throat hit.

If you’re more interested in big clouds and big flavours, opt instead for an e-liquid that’s higher in VG. Looking for something that sits comfortably in the middle? Give 50/50 e-liquids a try.

The Amount of Nicotine

Similar to choosing the right ratio of PG/VG, the ideal amount of nicotine or CBD in an e-liquid depends completely on the vaper. To help our customers create the perfect e-liquid, we stock shortfills (nicotine-free e-liquid) and nic shots.

Mix and match these with other e-liquids to find a balance between flavour, PG/VG, and nicotine.
